McInnes Makes Way in GSX Conference Session: The Role of Fire and Life Safety in Enterprise Security Risk Management

During the conference, on Monday, September 29th, at this year’s ASIS International GSX Conference held in the vibrant city of New Orleans at the iconic Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, our very own Life Safety and Security Consultant, Don McInnes, delivered an engaging and highly informative session titled “The Role of Fire & Life Safety in Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM).” This session offered attendees a comprehensive look into the vital integration of fire and life safety measures within the broader framework of enterprise security risk management, a topic that is increasingly critical in today’s complex organizational environments.

Throughout the session, McInnes expertly guided participants through the 3 key actions that security professionals can implement in Fire & Life Safety Risk Management (prevention, preparedness, response), how to evaluate the business impact and potential liability of non-compliance with fire codes and standards, and how to access the fire and life safety hazards that could impact business operations, occupants, and reputation, and understand how to mitigate them.

Adding further depth to the conversation, McInnes was joined by industry experts Chris T. Noll, Vice President of Loss Control at Lockton, and Jeffrey Zwirn, President of IDS Research and Development Incorporated. Their combined expertise enriched the session, offering attendees a well-rounded perspective on risk management from both security and loss control standpoints.

Overall, this session proved to be an invaluable resource for security professionals seeking to elevate their understanding and effectiveness in managing fire and life safety risks within their enterprises. The collaborative insights shared underscore the critical role that integrated risk management plays in safeguarding people, assets, and business continuity.

This said, we would like to thank everyone who joined him for the insightful session!
